The Pterosaur Archetype
It seems that the sound of the pterodactyl is inherently recognisable as such. Why is this so? One might reasonably expect that no-one in human history has ever heard one (except for maybe the ancestors of people who believe the earth is only 6000 years old). But let out that certain type of squawk and people just know.
